Recently I have been interested in AI generated content and have been messing around with the various open AI models, one of which is GPT3 and DALLE-2.
GPT-3 is an autoregressive language model that uses deep learning to produce human-like text. The architecture is a standard transformer network with the unprecedented size of 2048-token-long context and 175 billion parameters (requiring 800 GB of storage). The training method is “generative pertaining”, meaning that it is trained to predict what the next token is. The quality of the text generated by GPT-3 is so high that it can be difficult to determine whether or not it was written by a human.
DALL-E is a machine learning model that creates digital images from natural language descriptions. DALL-E uses a version of GPT-3 modified to generate images. DALL-E 2, a successor designed to generate more realistic images at higher resolutions.
The algorithms for the DALL·E 2 artificial intelligence have been modified so that it will not generate images of violence, hate, or nudity. This was done by removing images with this content from the data that the AI was trained on, and also by using advanced programming techniques to stop the AI from creating realistic images of people’s faces.
Both of these models were created by OpenAI; OpenAI is an artificial intelligence (AI) research laboratory founded in 2015 by Elon Musk, Sam Altman, and others. The organisation aims to promote and develop friendly AI in a way that benefits humanity as a whole. The organization has received a US$1 billion investment from Microsoft.
In this blog I explore the symbiotic relationship between poetry and photography:
There’s something special about poetry and photos. They both have the ability to capture a moment and preserve it forever. And when they’re combined, they can create something even more beautiful. Poetry and photos have a symbiotic relationship. Each one enhances the other, creating a more powerful message. A poem can add depth and meaning to a photo, while a photo can provide a visual representation of a poem. Together, they can create a stunning tribute to a moment, a feeling, or a memory. They can transport us to another time and place, and make us feel things we never thought possible.
Below I have assembled some poems and the corresponding image generated by DALL-E 2.
The natural end,
A cycle that all must go through,
The time that each of us must face,
And though it may seem like a dark abyss, It is only a temporary state.
As we breathe our last,
We are cleansed of our selfish wants,
We are at peace, And freed from our torment.
Our loved ones weep,
Mourn our loss,
And though they may mourn for a while,
In time they will move on.
Death is a natural part of life,
And though it may be hard to understand,
It is a natural process we must go through,
A part of change.
So when we see the end,
Know that it is only the beginning,
For our journey leads us to a new beginning,
A life everlasting.

All I wanted was to keep her safe But now she’s gone
And I can’t do a thing I sit here and I cry
All I want to do is die I wish I could go back to that moment
When I held her in my arms
Please God, let her be alright
Please let her be at peace I can’t bear the thought of not having her by my side
Whenever I close my eyes
I see her smile
It brings me comfort
Knowing that she’s in a better place I hope to see her again
But until then I’ll keep on mourning my little girl
Until we meet again
My dearest daughter I love you with all my heart

There’s a dog outside
And he’s looking in
At the lady sitting in her chair
But he doesn’t see the world
He sees the glass And the way the sun streams in
And the way the lady moves
And he loves it
He loves seeing the world
From the window of someone’s house
He loves being close to someone
And he loves how everyone is different
From the lady with the veil
To the guys with the skateboards
